Ndamukong Suh offered a non-answer when asked by TMZ Sports if he plans on returning to the Los Angeles Rams next season, saying simply, “We’ll see.”

The veteran defensive tackle is a free agent this offseason.

Suh, 32, signed a one-year, $14 million deal with the Rams before last season and had a solid campaign paired with Aaron Donald, registering 59 tackles (four for loss), 4.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. He earned a grade of 82.6 from Pro Football Focus, 20th among interior defensive lineman.

His running mate, Donald, was PFF’s top interior defensive lineman with a grade of 95.0, giving the Rams two top-20 lineman in the spine of the defense.

Bringing him back on another short-term deal would make sense for the Rams, even if Suh is no longer the dominant force that notched 36 sacks in his first five seasons and was a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro in his prime.

Suh’s presence takes some pressure off of Donald, though he is likely to dominate no matter who he is paired with given the incredible run he’s been on (59.5 sacks in his first five years, including 20.5 sacks this past season).

Still, the Rams will have some interesting decisions to make this offseason, with Suh, Rodger Saffold, Lamarcus Joyner and Dante Fowler all hitting free agency and a long-term extension for quarterback Jared Goff on the horizon. A reunion would make sense for both sides, but with limited cap space, the Rams likely won’t be breaking the bank to keep Suh.
