Survivor is almost back! Season 38 — Edge of Extinction — will be premiering Feb. 20 on CBS, and will feature the four returning players in Aubry Bracco, David Wright, Joe Anglim, and Kelley Wentworth. But there is one thing that will not be returning: the opening title sequence.
The show long ago ditched the opening player credits — those gorgeous slow-motion shots of players doing dramatic things out in the wild over tribal music — due to time constraints and the desire to cram in as much action as possible into an episode. It makes sense. Producers have to condense hundreds of hours of footage into only about 42 minutes each week, so every second counts. But we still miss them, especially in those early weeks when there are so many people and you find yourself still trying to match names up to faces.
BUT FEAR NOT! Because, once again, we’ve got your exclusive opening credits right here! Watch your emotions soar as Aubry growls in mid-air while catching something. Marvel as Ron attempts not to swallow a mouthful of seawater. Be confused as Victoria gives the longest eye-wink in human history. It’s all here! Plus, something called “Wardog.”
